Does TV in Hawaii both used to end a week the rest of the continent?
I remember my grandfather told me he said in the 70s when he was Hawaii, all television programs were a week behind the rest of the country. Is this true at once?
I left Hawaii in 1956 and not yet was no television in Hawaii. I was 5 years and after landing in San Francisco, (entrance by boat) I remember being fascinated by the Mickey Mouse TV Club. I had never seen before. Hawaii remained lost in time and programming has been in force a week after the mainland. Hey, no satellite, no internet. Television and very basic. It took time to catch up. But remember, at that time there were only two hotels in Waikiki, The Royal Hawaiian and Moana. My how things have changed. Good question …
