Give up cable television
My children cried when they realized he could no longer watch their favorite programs but soon learned that sound can heal his videos removed at any time. But most importantly, who lost his ass and began to appreciate most physical activities and liaison. And the best part is I no longer heard: "Only a mother minutes. I'll be there for business. Huh, what did he say?" Oh, I forgot, because I'm addicted to this show. "And, what should I do? I was in the middle of the game as well!"
It all started February 9, 2004, when my friend and I attended a study day all women of the Bible. In a workshop, spoke of how we could simplify our lives and in turn develop stronger ties with our children and other relatives. One of his suggestions was to nix the TV. He read a study that the use of television said that the waste about four hours today and 13 years our lives. Then he asked: "If you knew that you could have only 6 years by reducing your TV watching down to just two hours a day, what would you do with all this time? "
The irony is that this lesson came at a time when my husband and I asked our cable services will be reduced the very basic package, but found that the company had disconnected our cable in place. Now for those of you who live in a big city to be without cable is not as big of a deal, but for those of us who live in rural communities, it is necessary just to get cable channels 2-13 from clear. After learning The cable that the company will not be back for another week and we would incur a service connection "load, we decided to give up entirely by cable.
Our 9-year-girl closed the door of the room, the stairs and directly into her room while she mumbled and cried injustice of it all. Our 13-year-son looked at us with disgust, when he complained that he can never watch television again because the only shows that he had seen the cable channels. And my husband, well, say you had a moment of excitement on television, but quickly realized something very powerful television has become more important than socializing with family and friends. He has produced and then admitted he had used to plan his schedule around this show has been when and children shouting "no" interrupt.
I must confess that the first week was the hardest. With so much time on their hands, my children started fighting each other over the silliest things. After a week of listening to my kids fight ever, I was ready to re-order the cable. But he held firm. Now we are on our third week and I am pleased to announce that no one has died of boredom, children have stopped fighting (and mostly), my husband and I have found more time to talk with our children and others have rediscovered reading for pleasure, and games have become a family affair. It has really been a blessing in disguise, and an excellent way to reconnect with each other. About the Author
