Bridge is falling?

I'm 22 years old man living in the U.S. and I realized that my generation (Gen Y) is less inclined to play cards inlvolving a higher level of use of the brain (contract bridge in particular). It's the TV? short attention span? not transmitted? not right. Still I'm finding my age group ready to play bridge regularly (nothing against playing with the baby boomers!)

His generation has no motivation to do anything that requires brain waves. Technology is the reason. It has become very easy to make things happen and satisfaction is almost immediate. How many of his friends know how to write a check? How much space as the check in an envelope to pay the bill rather than paying online? Do you know how to ride a bus of the city? You want sex? It is a few keystrokes away. Need to talk to someone? No need to find a pay phone to know that no quarter. Simply cell type. Want to portable music? No more tape to bring with you, just MP3. Looking for work? Search the Web. No need to fight over land. His friends never had to work for nothing, so there is no challenge, no stimulus.
