Is the television series "House", an accurate representation of an exclusive hospital?

Some accelerated? More drama in most hospitals, then? These are some of the conclusions drawn deliberately to make the process longer, just for the episode and for dramatic purposes. In addition, if a doctor could be its own review of how they feel about the realism of this series, which is also appreciated.

No. And I say this as an anatomy Grey and avid fan of the House, as well as a medical student going to see some of the internal working day and night in the hospital. House, ER, Grey's, and other medical products such tragedies are so spectacular. Not sure what you mean by the exclusive hospital, but I will say that you want a multi-center medical specialties, advanced technology and medical research and scientific frontiers. I must admit that the House even more than the other shows An example of what is happening in the iterative process of creating a differential diagnosis based on symptoms, and the task of reducing the number of processes of the disease for several exact tests and procedures. Many of the drama than any other medical test, but, however, is always an idealist. From a spectator point of view, cases are resolved within one hour after all the long process has been adequate. In real life, this process can take days, weeks or months, and nothing is black and white or well defined, and patients often have a multitude of common, but chronic conditions and are not necessarily complex but treatable and curable maneagable certainly not … Instead of a rare and deadly, but quickly identifiable and treatable-with-an-antidote drug or condition usually seen in these shows. TV seems like all the tools and tests are readily available, and when a patient arrives, it is quickly apparent immediately or we use. Sure, they throw in one times here and there, but the problem is almost always resolved by the end of the episode. In machines rarely television for repair times are rarely overbooked for the peak months, and staff rarely shorthanded (and believe me, these problems plague high-level hospitals as well) The fact is that all these programs are glorified and medicine creates an impossible standard for real-life doctors, nurses and other medical professionals to match. It is expected that the company does and not in black and white, inside and outside medicine, which sometimes simply not feasible. Conclusions on the home are not at all "learned" for the theater. More But everything that happens is reduced to fit into the episode, and it is all boring jump to add to the DDRAM. The show has to throw everything to hand out a large part of to make a good story. The case took an hour can take days to solve real life, and surgery lasting 10 minutes on TV can take hours to complete the entirety. What matters theater does not show like House does not take into account? 1) fees and BEAURACRACY health and medical tests and treatment is oftendictated insurance companies and Medicaid (especially for some oddities and technologies used in these programs.) These large companies to determine what is "appropriate" tests and treatments, thus tying the hands of doctors by limiting what they can do for their patients. Insurance companies and Medicaid plans to pay strange which often refuse to cover simple and inexpensive detection of certain diseases, but are willing to pay tens of thousands after the disease grew a later stage. Television rarely show the piles of paperwork and time spent by the documents and personal documents just fill out and fight for tests and treatments approved and paid. And not even include the huge portion of the population has no insurance / Medicaid / Medicare at all. 2) The obesity epidemic is destroying our society and that influence our health system, giving rise to a huge problem with diabetes, hypertension, heart disease and stroke. These diseases, although much less glamarous, are debilitating and disabling, and very common. They are certainly the healthy lifestyle can prevent, but not easy to treat once a patient develops. Involve multiple organ systems that should be treated very expensive drugs (often because patients do not eat well will be closed, exercise or lose weight) – and these diseases are not really cured mind, often can only hope to swim and be with or slightly future. This is certainly not made for-TV drama. Complications of obesity enormous pressure on the economy of medicine and health care and quality of life of patients and physicians the ability to make a difference, but certainly not something the U.S. wants to see dramas in prime time. Once again, I love Grey's and House, in time, and I like medicine and an honor to enter as a career. But I can not separate the world of television and the real world of medicine and should also understand that medical dramas are called that for a reason. Real life is much more complicated, slow and complicated. I can only hope that some of you kept reading this far and I think the next Once you're at the doctor or hospital and do not forget — this is not House!
