Current / Ohms / Power / circuit problem, can you help me?
Many devices come with a potential difference of 56 V are running continuously for a period of 24 hours. a. How much energy is used if the device is a stereo 75.0 W? (Answer in units of J.) b. How much energy is used if the device is an electric furnace that draws 55.0 A current? (Answer in units of J.) v. How much energy is used if the device is a television with a resistance of 65.0 ohms? (Answer in units of J.)
Q (A) = E ʃ P (t) dt = ʃ (75) dt (where T is 0 to 24 = 24×3600 = 86400 seconds) E = 75 x (86400 ─ 0) = 6480000J Q (B) P (t) = V (t). I (t) = 56 x 55 = 3080W ʃ E = P (t) dt = ʃ (3080) dt (where T is 0 to 86400 seconds) E = 3080 x (86 400 ─ 0) = 266112000J Question (c) P (t) [V = (t)] ² / R ² = 56 / 65 = E = P 48.2462W ʃ (t) dt = ʃ (48.2462) dt (where T is 0 to 86400 seconds) x E = 48.2462 (86,400 ─ 0) = 4168471.68J
