Coping skills vary from child to child, like everyone else. Some skills can be learned from the therapists, while other skills physical activity, a hobby and participate in creative play, games and schedules. ADHD Your child needs a lot of coping skills, so I hope to give valuable tools for parents in your toolbox "To give your child.
Therapists Coping skills are often learned through therapy game, but if it is not an option for your family, my suggestion would be to find something your child enjoys, then encourage the child to use this option when feel out of control. If playing with the clay holds the attention of your child, put a plastic tablecloth on the kitchen table and let him crazy. You can even give them a specific task, like making flowers to dinosaurs, the gingerbread man, etc. to keep things interesting. When the draft is finished, let dry, then somewhere high in the house or room with your child to help build self-esteem.
Physical activity is always a plus for child with ADHD. When you notice that your child becomes hyperactive, have to go outside (weather permitting!) And running around the house two or three times and repeat if necessary, LOL! Seriously, any type of physical activity such as shooting baskets, running, jumping, playing volleyball, cycling, etc serve the hyperactivity of children under control. When Outdoor play is not an option, use a small trampoline in to help your child burn off excess energy. As a child who is burned to produce adrenaline, that will calm down and be able to communicate clearly and accept the redirection better. Just remember not to abuse this, because children with ADHD become bored with the activity ANY, has options for both indoor physical activity outdoors.
Creative play is a wonderful option for children with ADHD. If your child like art, hold art materials on hand. Has washable markers, construction paper, colored stickers, foam art deco furniture, beads and chain etc, and help your child to explore their imagination. Children enjoy the praise from adults, so be sure to give their children lots of encouragement, even if the dog have done for you is more like a bird. If your child is old enough, have them write a story about your project. This will encourage construction of language knowledge and may be a good practice in writing skills, too.
If your child loves video games, make sure you buy appropriate games for age and games that challenge children's minds. Puzzles to contain unlocked before proceeding to the next level to help teach patience and confidence increases. Educational games that teach critical thinking skills or math, or games that encourage your child to use their imagination are beneficial in themselves. One thing to in mind here is not to allow the electronics to become a nanny for your child's ADHD. Limit play time after completing their duties and tasks for week for short periods, long journeys by car, or as an alternative to watching TV without thinking.
