Where I can get work experience in the television industry?
I am a freshman currently studies for a degree in television production, and specializes in the publication. I would like experience in the sector during the summer, and I went to all main terrestrial channels (no wait do not get a response), and as Channel M in Manchester, I have not heard. I'm living and studying in Preston, and due to my student budget would not be possible for me more than Manchester trip (I will not be able to access to housing, or a little later.) Any other ideas anyone where could be applied in favor? I would be happy with the experience of a company in the sector, and even if I am specializing in publishing, I would be happy to try any production work My course covers all aspects of production. Thanks for any help!
Not sure of your position, I work at a television station in the Midwest. Your school must be able to help to find places to get an internship, which is probably the only thing you find in a single year at school. And many will not be paid. But at the station where I work, they often hire summer interns out of competition for future work, such as weekends or days party when you're not in school. However, it is a good networking experience. Make sure you have a good attitude and are motivated, no complaints. Seriously, some of student, I remember most were the worst to work. No person. And be kind to everyone, you never know who is a person or if you could be working with them one day. Consult your local International Television Association (itva.org) and get a list of all production and distribution houses in your area. Then Send CV to start. Tip: Note the periods of the votes – February, May, July, November – they are very busy time for television stations will not be able to respond immediately and probably not focused on finding a summer internship for a few months. For example, there is a guy calls several times a week now for a summer internship. At the wrong time in the book in February, and while not stop calling. All this does is make it memorable in the wrong direction. Good luck!
