Big burger is a town of several million dollars a food company in the year. Millions of customers, adults, children and families through the layers is like eating potato the cheap French, hamburgers and soft drinks offered by the restaurant. Recent studies have shown that a diet rich in calories and trans fats contribute significantly to obesity and diabetes, heart disease. Big City Burger products are very high in calories and contain these ingredients. The company reported heavily on places prominent and on television. The nutritional information for all products food menu is available online and on demand in restaurants. In light of these events, analyzing the ethical aspects of this case on the basis of the following theories ethical standards (in one paragraph by theory): a) Kantianism b) Utilitarianism c) Virtue ethics
Basically, I will briefly explain the possible answers, and you can do a little research and development. Thus, the main point I think is here to work on the ethical dilemmas that society and fast food business. In my opinion, including: 1. Is it morally just society to advertising of unhealthy food and lifestyle? 2. Is it morally just society on the sale of unhealthy foods at a price so low for so many? And three, maybe. Is it just for them to display nutritional information online or by commission? Kantianism: In Kantianism, a number of maxims, or principles on which people, Kant believes, should act. So it is an absolutist theory (as opposed to relativistic). The most important is to act only on that maxim can be universalized. Therefore, the rational (that all human beings are intrinsicly, Kant), imagine what the world would be like everyone behaved this way. So, in response to a question of our moral dilemmas project, a Kantian approach to ask "Is it morally right for society to announce this lifestyle and unhealthy food? "You mean if all the fast food chains have announced their poor diet unhealthy as desirable, everybody be tempted to eat and everyone would become fat and sick, that everyone would die. Well, not good. Therefore, the fact that the company advertised in the way it is morally reprehensible. Same applies for question # 2 – Is it wrong to sell all the food? No, because if all businesses they were selling spoiled food to everyone, then people get very sick. utilitarianism: utilitarianism acts on the principle is more useful to society and its growth. It is a relativistic theory. When faced with a moral dilemma from a utilitarian think of all possible outcomes for all possible options and act on what they think society benefits more. So, Question No. 1 – is useful to society if the society of fast food advertising unhealthy foods? One possible answer no, because it is not useful for society if people want to eat bad food, then get sick. Question # 2 – it is useful to society if the society people who sell food? No, because, as before, not good for a society where people eat unhealthy food and get sick for reasons obvious. Question No. 3 can also be viewed here: Is it useful to society if the information on food is only available on the website or application? You could say that no, it is because people are less informed, less will be able to make a decision about whether diet or not eating food. If you do not realize it, some can not even question what inside. Therefore, they are still eating food, and might even get sick and die. virtue ethics: virtue ethics is based on the idea that every man must strive to "Eudaimonia" or the supreme happiness in doing what is morally right. He believed everything has an end (ie, a good knife short is good), which means that a good man with eudaimonia. Good people to develop a good reputation by acting on the ethics of virtue, and the habit of acting on these virtues (A generous person behaves generously). There are virtues that made a person can follow, and are usually the middle path between two extremes. They include For example: courage, temperance, big heart, generosity, magnanimity, right ambition, patience, sincerity, humor, kindness, modesty, righteous indignation. Therefore, we can make our little drama. # 1 – when asked whether it is morally good for them little food advertising healthy, we can see how it relates to the particular virtues. The virtue of temperance – the practice of moderation – can not be contested here. Not enough if you're advertising something that is really hard to get money – that would be greed, which is an extreme that I mentioned earlier. They are as bad as good food advertising, This is contrary to the virtue of truthfulness. Therefore, advertising is morally reprehensible. # 2 – Is it wrong to sell bad food? Well, you can see the virtues temperance new here and you the same result as above. # 3 – Well, it can be seen as going against the virtue of truth again, and to hide some of the people really should be shown to them, especially if they are advertising as a good thing. And in the same way, the virtue ethics approach to the question: "Is she happy? Is it good? Is it modest? and most of these questions, the answer is "No. This should help a bit. As I said, you may have to expand, and there is a tone of things you can say to counter all this, but I thought I would let you.
