disrespectful children?

I read this paragraph in instilling respect for children, and made me think. How many children today days appear to act in a disrespectful way at all, and I think this is the right to act this way. I know that if I ever acted as a lack of respect for anyone so, I would be in a lot of trouble with my parents in their children. You think it's due to lack of time? raise our children on television, videos that teach our children, society as a whole, except behavior? Is it because the whole village to raise a child is now a days people do not want to get involved? It seems a sad day when see the gangs control the streets and people are afraid of speeding these children into the street and say hey you're disrespectful and must learn to manage others with respect. Just wondering what others think about this? article I mentioned in this link below http://www.tparents.org/Library/Unification/Books/RCoP/RCoP-4-03.htm

I do not know others, but I was raised with a healthy fear of my fathers and elders in general, because when I'm out of line, I knew there would be consequences. I was lost and I never considered myself to be abused. I also knew from the beginning I had to earn what they received. Do not ask or expect to get something every time my mother took your wallet in a store. And I'm sure as hell was never rewarded for launching an attack. My mother was a single mother and I lock "key child", but never I dreamed of running the streets, in trouble or lack of respect for my community and neighbors simply because she was not standing next to me at that moment I knew what was on and knew how to act in public and at home. I firmly believe that the youth of America has changed, when popular opinion is alarming for parents to discipline their children. There is a huge difference between a beat and whipping. Parents were given control of children and the rest of us have to live with the nightmare they have created.
