Will 9/11 end up like Pearl Harbor?

Will people 60 years from now end up not caring about what happened that day, and everything after (the war, homeland security, the Patriot Act, etc.)
Will it be just another page in the History books?
Will it be one of those “boring” stories our grandchildren will hate hearing about?
Will it be another 3 sentence article at the bottom of page 22 in the newspaper?

I ask these questions because I’ve noticed that even though Pearl Harbor was the second biggest attack on America from a foreign country (behind 9/11), most people have no clue when it happened (and don’t even care for that matter), and every anniversary there is barely a single mention of it in the news or media.

During the days right after 9/11 you couldn’t turn on your television without seeing an ad from a company saying “God Bless America” and “Never Forget”. Yet every year we lose a little more of our memory.

……………”We will Never Forget”- I think we’ve already Forgotten.

It is very possible that 9/11 will end up like Pearl Harbor, unless the History Channel launches a massive campaign to remind Americans what happened. And the lack of attention given to World War Two in the school textbooks is just disgraceful. The one that does cover it at all at my school just talks about the Supreme Court case on whether the Japanese internment camps were constitutional. No mention of Pearl Harbor. No mention of the Rape of China. No mention of Guadalcanal or any other major battles. No mention of the Holocaust. It’s just unbelievable.
