I just bought an HDTV, 42 "1080p LCD, this model: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8719078&type=product&id=1201306784758. I have an old XBOX 360 with no HDMI output (I use the components that are with him.) Should I get an elite? I know there are many arguments for component vs. HDMI but I know that my TV is 1080p. I do not want to lose $ 450 if you do not want to see the difference. The reading distance of me on TV is less than 10 feet. I have an old XBOX 360 has no HDMI support, as in I can not buy a cable and use it with this device. My question is, should I upgrade to the Xbox Elite (which specifies 1080p, Pro said only goes to 1080i) to HDMI capability. I know that many debates about HDMI vs. component cables, but I know my TV supports 1080p. Is it worth buying one for me?
Same if your TV supports 1080p, Xbox 360 does not "necessarily 1080p." I say this because, unless the add-on HD-DVD, will not be much 1080p content to your Xbox 360 or Xbox Live Marketplace. I think the best thing to do is 720p/1080i. I want to verify that and if not confirm, save your $ 450 and buy a Blu-Ray player or something really can use the 1080p LCD … EDIT: The Xbox 360 Elite has no dedicated high-definition disc player …
