Can someone explain this factoid from M * A * S * H for me?
From Wiki: "Farewell, farewell and amen" was the episode end of M * A * S * H. The episode aired on February 28, 1983, and was 2 hours. It has been seen by nearly 106 million Americans (77% of the audience that night) which was established as the most watched episode in the history of U.S. television, a record that still stands. The one that broke was the highest percentage of households with a television to watch a TV series, which is still held by the August 1967 final episode of David Janssen in The Fugitive as Dr. Richard Kimble, observed in 72% The U.S. households with televisions. The last time I checked 77 was greater than 72. What am I missing or do not understand?
"The Fugitive" is the final series was the number of televisions in use at the time of issue … very different from the record Neilsen number of "M * A * S * H *" package final.
