Hd Television Buying Guide

If you see a HD channel on AT & T U-verse, and it is to fill the screen, high definition is for you?
I recently purchased an HDTV. I have AT & T U-verse, so naturally I ordered their HD channels to watch HD content. I noticed that the Guide sometimes watching is a symbol name H, but other times, there is a symbol of high definition. Although it is not a symbol of high definition, is to fill the screen and not due to the aspect ratio I have my TV and when the ads appeared in standard definition, not completely fill the screen. Or simply being broadcast SD content a 16:09 aspect ratio widescreen aka? Thanks for all the help, but please only respond if you know what you say it is a fact.
