History
In January 1995, the Philippine Commission within the Department of Transport and Communications, the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) has granted a certificate of public convenience and necessity or provisional authority to install, operate and maintain telecommunications services radio and television antenna cable to Destiny Cable Inc. and has helped provide cable television services in metropolitan Manila and nearby towns, cities and provinces.
Destiny Cable Inc. embarked on the promotion of marketing of Solid Group Inc., which provides services Beam: cable television and electronic products and the facility to provide a special place in the cable industry. Solid Group Inc. was renamed for the manufacture and marketing of leading brands in electronics.
Global Cable
On February 3, 1993, Global Cable Inc. has received interim authority to provide cable television services. The National Commission Global Telecommunication Cable Inc. granted a certificate authority to construct, install, maintain and operate an antenna cable TV (CATV) system San Pedro, Laguna in May 1993. Therefore, Global Cable Inc. has also been authorized to operate and maintain a cable television system in the municipality of San Juan and in the cities of Mandaluyong, Makati, Pasay, Manila, Marikina, Muntinlupa and Paranaque.
Global merger with Cable
In November 2003, partnered with Global Destiny Cable cable strengthen and systematize their cable TV companies. The two companies merged to form Global Destiny cable.
Global Destiny Cable is regarded as the nearest competitor SkyCable Metro Manila. Both have their own partners around the country and both offer a broadband service to its cable Internet subscribers, respectively.
