Do not pay attention to these obvious fanboys Samsung … They know nothing! Panasonic plasma are more reliable, then Samsung! The fact of the matter is that you will not notice much difference at all between these two TV channels unless they are side by side! The S1 is a 2009 model and slightly energy more efficiently with the new plasma screen G12. But probably only save a few dollars a month in energy bills! Model 800U is the year recent model that can have a better color representation, but it's as bad lines moving image! 800 lines in motion with respect to the S1 1080 years! I'd say go with what you feel comfortable with. Both models are outstanding TV you will not be disappointed! If it were me, I'd go with the S1 … only because newer and has better resolution!
