I moved to Worcester and I am do what is necessary for Internet service. Strangely, Verizon Comcast, or operate in this area, told me to call Charter Communications. Charter told me that offer Internet Internet $ 35 + $ 25 cable to a promotional rate. I no TV and I really do not understand this policy and it is a promotion policy in any case not I think it would be interesting dollar to cover the cost of any plan you choose, when the promotion ends. You can get Verizon DSL (And, optionally, Comcast, not sure about this), it is fair to cable Internet service, you can not otherwise obtain only by the Charter. Some areas are not wired for DSL, but I imagine that most of the city should be. There are public WiFi everywhere, including public libraries, Starbucks, stores coffee, etc.
