How to advance technology on how you like watching television in Canada?
With the advent of things like PVR, VCR, DVD boxes, Pay-Per-View, Internet and interactive programming, the way we consume television has changed radically in recent years. As host of the Time (cbc.ca / thehour), I want to know how technology affects the way you see television Canadians. For example, Gemini Awards this year has a new category where the winner is chosen entirely by listening to public television for online voting. The Choice Award viewers on Canada Day Favorite TV Series (not eligible for a Gemini Award) from a field of 22 candidates. You can vote at cbc.ca / geminiawards / vca.html. The 22nd Annual Gemini Awards will be held on Sunday October 28, 2007 and broadcast live from the Conexus Arts Centre Regina at 8:00 pm Yahoo! I bought a safety valve early this year, and did not see the TV broadcasts on their regular schedules. I have 5 or 6 shows that I record, and when I free time I head to the TV room to see the shows I've recorded. I see more waste of time "at all" … I see what I see when I want to see. I also recently received a iPod nano. Now I can download podcasts of "Time" and see the train during my journey. Technology has made decisions in the hands of the audience – you can choose which save, what to download, Commericals and what to watch or pass – instead of relying on network programmers to make these decisions for them.
